A Belgian-styled pale ale brewed by Japanese brewer Leo Imai in Herzele, Belgium.

Brewed by Leo Imai, originally from Yokohama but now based in Belgium. The Belgian-styled pale ale is light and pleasant to drink. Made for pairing with Japanese food.

Ninkasi Oatis and Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout

In Malaysia, Guinness is a well-known brand for stout.

Today I tried new type of stout and they tasted good! How I wish they are available widely and less pricier so that I can enjoy them often.

What I tried:

Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout (ABV 5.8%)
Ninkasi Oatis (ABV 7.2%)

Both of them have creamy foam especially Oatis; roasted dark malty flavour, hint of chocolate and very smooth - wonderful complex flavour.

Drink: La Trappe Witte Trappist

The world's first and only Trappist white ale. Brewed using only water, grain and hops.

Country: Netherlands.

ALC: 5.5% vol

Clean and crispy, very refreshing on a hot day.

A friend gave these to me when I was in Singapore few months ago. They taste like carbonated fruit juice. Not sure if the beers are sold in Malaysia but I don't miss them.

Saturday: 

Taps Beer Bar sells a variety of craft beer in draft and bottle. As it was our first time there, we were not quite sure what to order so the waitress recommended the tasting set.

Octoberfest @ 1 Utama

The RM1 Beer promotion was back at the 1 Utama Octoberfest! With wo 50 cents coins, we can exchange a bottle of 500ml Oktoberfestbier with 6.1% abv. The Lowenbrau is very carbonated - bad idea to drink it fast, especially on half empty stomach. That was what I did and it got to my head fast!

This was the place where the beers were kept cold before distribution. On the first day, it was finished within half an hour!

There were Tigers, Heneiken and Guiness as well but I'm more interested in these imported beers. One buckets (5 bottles) for RM50 for 300ml - Leffe, Stella, Hoergarden, Asahi, Crown Lager, Budweiser, Victoria Bitter, Cider. That's meant RM10 per bottle!

There were also Erdingers , Franziskaner, Konig Ludwig and Lowenbrau Original.

Sid's Beerfest 2010

It was a lovely Sunday afternoon at Sid's Beerfest!

Heineken, Tiger & Guinness for RM5! It was served in the plastic cup.

But I went for Paulaner! Strongbow and Killkenny were also RM10.

There were also a lot of imported beer on sales in bottles. Priced between RM15 and RM25.

The venue was actually at the garden in front of the pub. It was such a laid back event. Everyone was really chilling out, drinking beers - everything else does not matter on that afternoon. One of the best events for me. Love it! Thanks Sid's Pub. Cheers!
